During this time of social distancing, we’re all facing a lot of uncertainty. It can be difficult to know where to turn for support, but Strive Health remains open to ensure our communities have ongoing access to high quality, evidence-based treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic. While continuing to provide care for past and current clients, we are also accepting new clients and remain committed to helping those who need us, anytime and anywhere. Care is available in-person and through our remote telehealth service StriveAnywhere, providing support for clients who would benefit from specialized outpatient care either on-site or in a virtual environment.

StriveAnywhere Telehealth Services

Telehealth is the use of digital and communication technologies to facilitate the diagnosis, treatment, support and management of a patients’ health care remotely. This allows individuals to receive the services they need from the comfort of their home and provides a convenient treatment option for those who can’t travel due to distance, illness or cost. As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads across the U.S., telehealth also helps keep patients and providers safe by minimizing the risk of exposure to the coronavirus.

At Strive Health, our StriveAnywhere telehealth services are here to provide you the support you need during this challenging time, offering convenient treatment options from your home or at our facility. By utilizing video conferences, online portals, and other software, we’ve developed a virtual environment that can meet the needs of you and your loved ones without sacrificing the commitment or quality of care that we are known for. Below are the types of services that we can provide through telehealth:

StriveAnywhere’s Telehealth Assessment Process

1. Our admissions team will request some basic information

  • When you first call Strive Health, our admission team will take general information, including your name, date of birth, contact information, and insurance information, and will ask you some general questions regarding your symptoms and/or substance use.

2. Our admissions team will schedule your first appointment for an assessment

  • Our admissions team will help you determine which Strive Health location is closest to you to determine which facility you will be working with, and then identify the most appropriate date and time for your first appointment. We do our best to accommodate an assessment within 24 hours of a phone call.

3. The next step will be your first appointment

  • When it is time for your first appointment, you will log into our telehealth portal using the login information provided by our admissions team. For your appointment, you will need:
    • A smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer
    • A reliable internet connection
    • A private space
    • A parent or guardian if you are under the age of 18
  • Please be aware that your first appointment can take anywhere from 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes, so set aside the appropriate amount of time.
  • An assessment is often the first major step to recovery. Our care team will evaluate your background, substance abuse history and mental health to identify your needs and determine the level of care that’s right for you.
  • During your assessment, we will also review all your insurance benefits and discuss any out of pocket responsibilities, if any, you may have.
  • Upon completion of the assessment, our clinicians will discuss what level of care is most appropriate for you. If the assessment determines that you require a higher level of care than we offer, we will let you know and help coordinate care with a facility that best meets your needs.

Strive’s Telehealth Services are in-network with most major commercial health insurance plans as well as TRICARE and the VA Community Care Network. To ensure the highest quality of care possible, our clinicians are trained in evidence-based psychotherapy practices as well as cultural competencies that meet a variety of client needs. If you choose to continue treatment with Strive Health, we will schedule your next appointment during the initial assessment. Telehealth FAQ’s

  1. What is a Virtual Visit?
    A virtual visit is similar to an office visit, only instead of traveling to see a clinician, you can video conference with them from your home. Our providers can assess symptoms, make a diagnosis, recommend treatment, and send prescriptions electronically to your pharmacy. This visit will attempt to replicate your office visit but may have some limitations. Call our office to determine if a Virtual Visit will work for you.
  2. How Do I Schedule a Virtual Appointment?

  3. What If I Want to See a Clinician In-Person?
    We are taking every precaution to keep you and our staff safe during these difficult times. To learn more about your treatment options or get the latest updates on temporary closings, please contact your nearest Strive Health facility.
  4. Will My Insurance Cover a Virtual Visit?
    • Commercial Insurance carriers, as well as Medicaid, have temporarily expanded their telehealth coverage to respond to the current Public Health Emergency declaration. During this time, you will be able to receive evaluation and management services through telehealth and virtual office visits. This will help ensure you are able to meet with a clinician or doctor without having to come to our facility, keeping you and others safe from the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
    • Many commercial insurance carriers have agreed to waive copayments for virtual visits. Therefore, we will not be collecting copayments at the time of your visit but will follow your insurance carriers’ explanation of benefits regarding billing.
  5. What are the Benefits of Telehealth?
    • Telehealth offers clients multiple advantages over traditional office visits, notably the option to receive treatment and therapy from the comfort of your home.
    • Telehealth also expands access to care for those who cannot travel or aren’t within driving distance of a Strive Health treatment facility.
    • Virtual settings allow clients to participate in individual or group therapy with a licensed therapist in a secure, online environment.
    • Telehealth increases flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of a diverse group of people, allowing clients to receive care at their own convenience.
  6.  How Do I Prepare for a Telehealth Session?
    • Prepare your space
      You will need a designated, secure space for your telehealth session. Here are a few things to keep in mind regarding your setting:
      • Privacy and Confidentiality – Select a space that is private and free of distractions. You want to make sure that no one else can hear the conversation between you and your therapist, and no one else will be entering the room. If you are participating in a group session, you also want to be mindful and respectful of your group members’ privacy. Consider using headphones or earbuds so that your therapist’s voice is kept private and only you can hear
      • Noise Level – Ensure that there are no noises that could be distracting to you, your therapist or group members during your session.
      • Visual Distractions – Your background in the camera should be free of all clutter.
    • Prepare Yourself
      Arrive for your meeting five minutes early and test out the platform before the appointment. This will allow you to make sure your audio and video components are working properly and let you address any problems ahead of time.
      • Do the Work – Complete any assigned work prior to the session so you can maximize time with your therapist.
      • Breathe – Get into a good headspace. This session is yours — get the most out of it by going in with the right mindset. Your therapist and/or group members care about you and are here to help.
