David Drapkin, is the Executive Clinical Director of Strive Health of Paramus.
David is a fierce advocate for behavioral health treatment in Bergen County and the surrounding areas.
David studied and trained in England, Australia and The United States; and has work history including inpatient psychiatry, sober living houses, outpatient psychotherapy and even being a National Park Ranger in New Zealand! David has training in Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, Prolonged Exposure and Psychoanalysis from the William Alanson White Institute.
David is a licensed Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) instructor in both Adult and Youth courses. He is a member of the County Alliance Steering Subcommittee (CASS) for Bergen County’s Local Advisory Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (LACADA).
As a Jewish man, David is part of the campaign to challenge stigma around mental health and addiction in that community. He has spoken publicly at Jewish schools and synagogues and helps facilitate a confidential support group for Jewish people affected by a loved one’s Substance Use Disorder.
David is equipped to understand our client’s diverse needs and backgrounds, whoever they are.
Prior to Strive, David was the Behavioral Health Program Manager and Addiction Specialist at Englewood Health.
